Worcester, Mass. - The Adelphi Universit men's and women's swimming and diving programs returned to the pool for the first time in 2026, taking on the lanes inside the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Sports and Recreation Center on Tuesday. Both teams took on Bentley University, WPI and Felician University, while the women also took on Wellesley College.
The only team victory came from the men's commanding 205-57 defeat of Felician. The women's team battled with the Golden Falcons, settling for a narrow 122-150 defeat.
Women's Highlights:
- Laura Moran finished in the top-half of the field in the 100 backstroke and was seventh in both the 200 backstroke (2:19.06) and 50 freestyle (26.67).
- Isbella Chang touched the wall seconds after Moran in the 50 freestyle, placing eighth in 26.74.
- Kelly Tula and Natalia Brulinski were seventh and ninth overall in the 200 butterfly, finishing just over one second apart, as Tula placed fourth in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 1:04.05.
- Angelina Fazzino was the top-Adelphi finisher in the 500 freestyle event, taking seventh overall in a time of 5:35.80.
Men's Highlights:
- Ryan Kakimseit swam the leadoff leg of the 200 yard medley that came in first, topping the field with a time of 1:35.78, which ranks inside the top-five in the NE10 this season. He was joined by Connor Singer, Jake Chee-A-Tow and Eric Slavin.
- Kakimseit earned an individual victory in the 100 backstroke (52.51) and came in second in the 200 backstroke (1:58.99), behind the top swim out of WPI (1:57.40). He also joined the 400 freestyle relay that came in fourth, clocking in at 3:17.06.
- Tristan Weingarten was third in the men's 200 freestyle (1:46.55) and Singer was first in the 100 breaststroke, as the lone swimmer to clock in under a minute.
- Tyler Thompson and Jake Chee-A-Tow were 0:00.20 seconds apart and finished third and fourth, respectively in the 200 butterfly, while Thompson also put up a top-five finish in the 500 freestyle, in a time of 4:57.78. Additionally, Thompson went 1:59.49 in the 200 individual medley to place second in the field.
- Luke Paragas and Peter Gentilini were both inside the top-10 for the 100 butterfly and led by Chee-A-Tow who placed third.
