Box Score Duluth, Minn. - In its first ever meeting, the Adelphi University volleyball team concluded the UP North Tournament with a 3-0 loss to Michigan Tech on Saturday morning, inside Romano Gymnasium. 
Macarty McQueen finished with a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs as Westerich accounted for 23 assists. 
The Panthers took a commanding 17-7 lead in the opening set but they saw it slip away as a result of consistent Husky offense. 
Madeleine Chaapel and 
Delaney Kiendra both recorded kills in the latter part of the set, but back-to-back blocks and an Adelphi miscue saw the score go even at 23-all. 
Using extra points, the team from the east coast saw set point on three separate occasions, but Michigan Tech closed the door with two straight stops at the net to win the opener 29-27. 
Set number two got off to an even start, but the Huskies quickly doubled the Adelphi score at 10-5 as the visitors struggled to find a way to stop the Tech attack. 
The third and ultimately final set played out in the same fashion, with the Huskies finishing the match with 12 total team blocks. 
Adelphi (2-6) will head back home and make a trip to the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Daemen University, starting on Friday, Sept. 19. The match against Dominican (N.Y.), originally scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 16 has been canceled.
