11 Score in #10 Women's Lacrosse 22-4 Victory Over AIC

Garden City, N.Y. – With a season-high 22 goals, the No. 10 Adelphi University women's lacrosse team secured a dominant 22-4 victory over American International College on Saturday, remaining undefeated at home.

Eleven different players contributed to the Panthers' win, as the team extended its winning streak to six games.

Leading Adelphi was Alexandra Leggio with six points, while Ashley Kolomechuk and Julia Foppiano each recorded a hat trick or better.

Adelphi established running time before the end of the first quarter when Leggio connected with Foppiano to make it 12-1 at the buzzer. A balanced second quarter still saw the Panthers leading 14-3 at halftime.

Kolomechuk's second goal of the game opened the third quarter, igniting a five-goal run for the Panthers, who continued to apply pressure throughout the period. Reagan Morra notched her first collegiate goal midway through the quarter, contributing to an eight-goal surge for the home team.

The Yellow Jackets held a 7-4 advantage in the final 15 minutes of regulation, but Adelphi still added three more goals to their opponent's one. Kayleen Mulry recorded her first collegiate goal during the 3-1 stretch.

Marielle Colalillo and Rita Sefransky combined for 10 draw control wins, helping the Panthers dominate that statistic with a 21-7 advantage.

Adelphi women's lacrosse will return to action on Wednesday, March 26, when they face No. 8 Pace University in a rematch of the 2024 NCAA quarterfinals, where the Panthers punched their ticket to the Final Four. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
