Bowling Picks Up Four Wins at Northeast Region Roundup

New Castle, Del. — Head coach Arthur O'Connor and the Adelphi bowling team headed down to the Wilmington (Del.) hosted Northeast Region Roundup this weekend. 

The Panthers had a very solid weekend, picking up four victories, all coming in baker matches over local rivals Molloy and LIU. 

Gayle Lopez had the best tournament of her collegiate career so far, averaging 18.91 pins per frame in baker play and knocking down 11 out of 12 single pin spares. 

Erica DeJesus impressed in traditional play, bowling a team-high score of 231 in the Panthers' game against Felician. She led the Brown and Gold in strikes with 21 and was second in average pins per frame with 16.66. 

Giana Giampapa had the best overall fill percentage in traditional matches with 72% while having Adelphi's best traditional average with a 167.6. 

Payton Hoffay was excellent when slotted in as the anchor bowler in baker matches, scoring an average of 25 with two attempts. 

The Panthers return to the lanes on Friday when they head to Sinking Springs, Pa. for the ECC Championship.
