Lakewood, NJ - A decisive win on the back of 11 different goal scorers put the Panthers immediately in the win column on Tuesday, following a 19-6 victory at Georgian Court.
The game - which was moved up a day due to inclement weather - saw a scoreless first quarter for the home team as the Panthers put up no less than four goals in each quarter.
Noah Gibson and
Luke Mackin both recorded their first career goals in Adelphi uniforms and went even further with three goals apiece for the 'Cats. Four of the first five goals were scored by newcomers to the roster, as the visitors jumped out to a staggering 10-2 lead by halftime.
Michael Durnin and
Braden Donnellan connected for the final goal of the second before the top-team in Division II put together a 5-1 third to keep its' opponent at bay. The Lions managed to play their best lacrosse in the last frame, contributing two man-up goals in the final 90 seconds, but the deficit was too great to overcome.
A highlight for the Panthers debuted at the faceoff X - a spot where Adelphi struggled in 2024 - as freshman
William Greaves went 9-15 in his first collegiate outing.

Dylan Renner collected five saves in 42 minutes while
Brandon Kessler stopped a pair of shots in less than 10 minutes time.
Adelphi takes on United States Merchant Marine Academy in a scrimmage on Thursday, Feb. 12 before opening up it's home schedule on Saturday, Feb. 22 against St. Thomas Aquinas College.
