McQueen Headlines NE10 Volleyball Major Awards, Six Named All-Conference

11/19/2025 2:00:00 PM

North Attleboro, Mass. - Senior outside hitter Macarty McQueen has been named the Northeast 10 Player of the Year, announced Wednesday, leading six All-Conference selections for the Adelphi University volleyball program.

Adelphi and Bentley tied for highest number of first team honorees - at three apiece - while the Panthers led the conference with six selections overall. For a full breakdown of All-Conference awards, see below.

McQueen ranks tops in the conference in kills per set, total attacks and total kills this season, and was named Player of the Week five different times. She collected a career milestone of 1,000 kills in a win on Sept. 6 and set a new program record in single game kills when she posted 29 against Post University the same night. Also this season, the Indiana native has been responsible for seven double-doubles (kills-digs) and is responsible for seven of the top-10 single game totals in kills among league competition.

Joining McQueen on the All-Conference First Team are fellow outside hitter Madeleine Chaapel and setter Ana Carolina Westerich. Chaapel is second on the team in overall kills and ranks fourth in the NE10 in the same category. The junior has posted double-digit kills in 16 games this year with a season-high 20 against Belmont Abbey opening weekend and averages just over 3.00 kills per set.

Westerich has been the primary playmaker for the Panthers in just her first season in Garden City, and has logged over 1,000 assists to date. She has been named Setter of the Week on three different occasions and is averaging just under 10.00 assists per set. At the time of this announcement, she has nearly 250 more assists than the next highest competitor in the league.

Doubling up on her Second Team honors in her career is Delaney Kiendra, as a force in the middle blocker role. She is third on the team in overall kills (198) and third in total blocks. The California native has five games with 10 or more kills, including a season best 14 in a win over Roberts Wesleyan.

Three-time Defensive Player of the Week Autumn Moore earns her first All-Conference nod this fall as a Second Team selection. She is tops in the league in total digs (471) with an NE10-leading 4.44 digs per set average thus far this season.

Rounding out the All-conference recognition is first year Elena Covic, who represents the Panthers on both the Third Team and All-Rookie squad. Her 195 kills this year is good enough for fourth on the team as she ranks second among her teammates in total blocks. The right side from Serbia has had seven games with 10 or more kills, with a season-high 12 on two different occasions.

Head Coach Danielle MacKnight and the squad return to the NE10 semifinals on Friday, Nov. 21 when they take on American International at 7:30 p.m. at top-seeded Bentley University. Since joining the league in the fall of 2009, the Panthers have made 13 appearances in the tournament overall with a semifinal appearance or better 11 different times.
