Manchester, N.H. - In his first Northeast 10 Conference Championship meet, first year Maxwell Krapf led the Adelphi University men's cross country program in their fourth place finish on Sunday, on the campus of Saint Anselm College.
Krapf, running just his fourth collegiate 8K, clocked in at 27:07.5 to place tenthoverall. This stands as the rookie's third best 8K time this season and his third consecutive tenth place finish. He was also just the second freshman to cross the tape in a field of 94 racers.
Sophomore
Deven Bernardin was the next Panther to cross the finish line, with a 27:47 to place 24th. This mark's his first NE10 Championship after being sidelined last cross country season. Also running this race and course for the first time in his career was third place finisher for the Cats,
Mosiah Calderon, clocking in at 28:17. His time was his second fastest 8K of the season which saw him finish inside the top-35 at 34th.
Rounding out the scoring for the Panthers were
Jack Riegger and another freshman,
Noah Mach who finished 34th and 38th, respectively and only separated by less than ten seconds. Riegger was tightly on the heels of Calderon, who beat him out by 0.2 seconds.
The team will now prepare for the NCAA East Region Championship, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8 in Hopkinton, NH. The meet will be hosted by Franklin Pierce.
