Bridgeport, Conn. - Coming off a historic season, the Adelphi University men's swimming and diving team suffered a season-opening loss at the University of Bridgeport on Friday, falling 93-197.
Meet Highlights:
- Tyler Romero put up top scores in both the 1M (234.90) and 3M (176.02) diving events to kick off the season.
- Freshman Santiago Souberbielle clocked in at 9:13.12 in the men's 800 freestyle relay, besting teammate Gus UpChurch by four seconds.
- Ryan Kakimseit continued his winning ways, tying for the top spot in the 100 backstroke (56.40), taking first in the 200 backstroke (2:10.46) and swimming the leadoff leg in the medley relay that took second.
- Connor Singer kicked off his senior campaign with a win in the 200 breaststroke and placing second in the field for the 100 race of the same specialty.
The Adelphi University swimming and diving program will be back in the lanes on Friday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m.
