Waltham, Mass. - As its final tune-up before the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, the Adelphi University women's swimming and diving program suffered a 90-162 defeat to Assumption University on Saturday.
Highlights:
- Emily Munayirji came away with two top individual swims, in the 200 freestyle and the 200 backstroke, while helping the 200 medley relay take second in a time of 1:54.39.
- Laura Moran picked up a pair of second place swims in the 100 backstroke, the other just behind teammate Munayirji in the 200 backstroke event.
- Kelly Tula picked up nine points for the Cats with her top time of 1:03.97 in the 100 butterfly while also appearing in the 200 medley relay.
- Daniela Zunich was also responsible for contributing points with her second place finish in the 100 fly, clocking in at 1:07.92.
Adelphi will spend the next several weeks preparing for the NE10 Championship, scheduled to begin Thursday, Feb. 13 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute Sports & Recreation Center.
