New Castle, Del. — Head coach Arthur O'Connor and the Adelphi women's bowling team returned to the lanes on Friday morning when they took part in the Sacred Heart hosted Northeast Classic. The tournament featured 38 teams, 17 of which are ranked nationally in the top 25. 

Adelphi bowled particularly well in its baker matches, bowling over 900 twice and picking up its lone win of the weekend, 914-777 over Holy Family. Gayle Lopez impressed on the first day, making all four of her spare attempts coming on as a substitute. 

Three Panthers finished the tournament in the top half of scoring average: Tiffany Wong (182.8), Carly Wu (173.6) and Giana Giampapa (161.0). Wong has the highest score of weekend with a 196 as well as the best strike percentage (44%) and single pin spare conversion rate (93.8%/88.9%)

The 'Cats will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 1 when they take part in the Griffin Baker Classic hosted by Chestnut Hill.
