Men's Soccer Fights for a Draw Against Nationally Ranked Post

Newark, Del. — The Adelphi men's soccer team looked to continue momentum following their first victory in a tilt against No. 14 Post on Saturday afternoon.

There was not much action in the early goings until Post was awarded a penalty kick in the 20th minute. Luckily for the Panthers, the kick sailed wide and momentum went right on their side. Just three minutes later an Eagle turnover would lead to Richard DeBrosse's first goal of the season and a 1-0 Adelphi lead.

Post would then turn of the pressed on the Panther back line but they would not budge as they kept the lead going into the half.

After early chances by Post in the second period, Alessio Consoli and Pablo Herrera had a go for goal but could not convert. Post would eventually tie the game in the 77th minute.

The Eagles continued to attack but Santiago Arango and the Adelphi defense stayed strong as the 'Cats fought for a 1-1 draw.

Arango made two saves compared to none for the Post goalkeeper.

Andre Josaphat made his collegaite debut during the game.

Head coach Gary Book and the Panthers return to the pitch on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. for their home opener against Mercy.
