Orange, Conn. - In their final match of the spring season, the Adelphi University women's golf team picked up a dual match win over the University of New Haven on Sunday, hosted at Race Brook Country Club.
In an 18 hole day, the 12 competing golfers were grouped into three foursomes. The two golfers from each school would compete in a head to head format. The first nine holes were played with a scramble format, where both golfers hit the ball off the tee, playing the best spot to the hole. The back nine consisted of a best ball format, where both golfers played through each hole, choosing the best score to represent their team's.
The teams of
Ilaria Ponziani and
Filippa Schulze Doering, along with
Alexis Cokinos and
Amy McCaffrey each won their foursomes, leading to a 2-1 victory for the 'Cats.
