Women's Basketball Booted From NE10 Tournament By Pace, 55-46

Pleasantville, N.Y. - A first-round exit from the NE10 Championship befell the No. 10 seed Adelphi University women's basketball team Friday in a 55-46 loss to No. 7 seed Pace University at the Goldstein Fitness Center.

The Panthers (7-22) tied a season-low with 16 made field goals in the contest, but Rolanda Robinson erupted for a game-high 22 points in the effort -- two off her career-high.

Coming out of the third-quarter media timeout, Adelphi found its rhythm. A 10-2 run in a short span of 2:03 cut an 11-point Pace lead down to a single possession at 30-27.

Pace still re-gained its double-digit lead by the start of the fourth quarter, although an 8-0 response by the visitors had the 'Cats right back in it.

Much like her three-pointer moved Adelphi to within a bucket in the third quarter, Robinson's fourth-quarter triple -- coupled with a Lauren Beberman three-point play -- closed the gap to 40-37 with 6:26 left.

While Robinson's sensational play kept the Setters at an arm's length, Adelphi made only three field goals over the game's final six minutes.

Jenna Jordan capped off her collegiate career with a double-double, totaling 10 points and 11 rebounds. Kaitlyn O'Connell added a line of five points, four rebounds and two assists, while Lauren Beberman grabbed seven rebounds off the glass and contributed two steals.

This concludes the 2023-24 season for the Adelphi University women's basketball team, which wraps up the year at 7-22 overall and 5-17 in NE10 play.
