Men's Soccer Falls in NE10 Semifinal to #1 SNHU

Manchester, N.H. — After a thrilling shootout victory against No. 5 Bentley on Saturday night, the No. 4 seeded Adelphi men's soccer team traveled up to Southern New Hampshire to take on the top seed in the semifinal round.

The match started off hot for the Penmen with the host firing two shots in the first five minutes. Richard DeBrosse would respond with a shot of his own but the attempt sailed wide.

SNHU continued its offense attack and it finally found the back of the net in the 21st minute to take the lead. Adelphi would try to counter with some offensive substitutions but before the Panthers knew it, it was 2-0 Penmen in the 31st minute.

Alessio Consoli and Victor Castel would try to cut the deficit in half before the break, but neither were able to find the back of the net.

Unfortunately for the 'Cats, the second half was much like the first as SNHU would strike  early in the period to gain a 4-0 lead. Adelphi showed fight in the final 20 minutes but could not muster enough offense as it fell in the semifinal.

The Panthers will now await their postseason fate on Monday at 6:30 p.m when the NCAA selection committee released the men's soccer bracket.
