Indianapolis, Ind. - The ultimate goal hasn't been realized yet, but a 43-6 season has the Adelphi University softball team occupying the No. 1 seed in the East Region, after the announcement of the 2023 NCAA Division II Championship field Monday morning.
An eight-team regional split between two host sites, the Panthers are set to welcome No. 4 seed Bentley University, No. 5 seed Caldwell University and No. 8 seed St. Thomas Aquinas College to Janet L. Ficke Field this weekend for a three-day double-elimination tournament.
A live stream of all games will be carried on
NE10NOW.tv, and Live Stats can be found at the following

As Bentley returns to a familiar location following last weekend's NE10 Tournament appearance, Caldwell and St. Thomas Aquinas are both making their 2023 debuts in Garden City.
In 2022, the Panthers swept both regular-season series at home against Caldwell and STAC. Then, while facing elimination in the postseason, Adelphi rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh against the Caldwell bullpen to cement its spot in the Super Regional.
The Brown and Gold will first meet STACÂ on Thursday at 12 noon. Last season, the 'Cats outscored the Spartans 16-0, and
Claire Fon and
Lindsey Hibbs both threw perfect games in the two efforts.
Meanwhile,
Zee Zee Shreter -- out of the lead-off spot in the lineup -- produced a pair of three-hit games with a combined five runs scored.
Bentley and Caldwell are scheduled to face off in Thursday's nightcap at 2:30 p.m. Not even two weeks removed from their last meeting, the Falcons and Cougars split a doubleheader to close out the 2023 regular season on Apr. 28.
The pieces are in place for a potential re-match of last year's Super Regional, with Wilmington as the No. 2 seed. Georgian Court (No. 3), Franklin Pierce (No. 6) and Pace (No. 7) make up the other four-team regional in Wilmington, Del.
General admission for all games at Janet L. Ficke Field will cost $5. Reduced prices of $3 are set for students with valid ID and senior citizens, and $2 for children between 3-to-12 years of age. Any children -- ages two and under -- will be admitted free.
