Mansfield, Mass. - After its win this past Saturday, the Adelphi University field hockey team has earned the No. 6 seed in the 2023 Northeast-10 Conference Championship, the conference announced Sunday morning. 

The tournament gets underway on Tuesday (Oct. 31), with four quarterfinal contests scheduled to take place throughout the evening.

Head Coach Jess Mulhern has led the team to a 9-8 (8-5 NE10) record in her second season at the helm. The 'Cats had some thrilling overtime victories this season, including one at Pace, who was ranked No. 10 nationally at the time, courtesy of a goal from Francesca Manzella. The other also came on the road at AIC, after the defense came up clutch again, this time thanks to senior Kylie Peregoy.

Assumption (12-1) clinched the top overall seed, looking to once again reign atop the NE10 after picking up its first conference championship in 2021. Coming in second was Saint Anselm (11-2), which beat Assumption this past Saturday, with Bentley (9-4) taking in the No. 3 seed and holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over Pace at the four.

Adelphi will travel to play No. 3 Bentley on Tuesday (Oct. 31) at 6 p.m. in Waltham, Mass. In the other three match-ups, No. 1 Assumption will host No. 8 Franklin Pierce, No. 2 Saint Anselm will take on No. 7 Mercy, and No. 4 Pace will play No. 5 Southern New Hampshire.

The semifinals for the NE10 Championship will be played on Friday, November 3, with the championship final scheduled to take place Sunday, November 5. All games will be played at higher seeds.
