Garden City, N.Y. - A pair of former Adelphi University baseball players have been recognized for their post-graduate accomplishments, in the 2023 announcement of Adelphi's '10 Under 10' class.

Since its inception in 2012, the University has annually celebrated a group of reputable Adelphi alumni, who have achieved professional and personal success within ten years of graduating.

Of the ten individuals honored in 2023, Steven Lander '14 and Vinny Messana '13 -- who were teammates in 2012 -- both spent time playing for the Adelphi baseball program.

Messana's attention has continued to remain laser-focused on baseball. Not only is he an area scout for the San Diego Padres, Messana serves as President of Axcess Baseball -- a renowned online baseball publication on Long Island.

In his current role at Axcess Baseball, Messana oversees all aspects of business operations, which includes the recruitment of personnel, determining the content that is published, selecting which games to cover and establishing partnerships with various companies.

"One pageview is better than none. $1 is better than $0. Get off the sidelines and start somewhere. Once you start and you stay consistent, the sky is the limit," Messana explained.

Lander earned his degree in Management from the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business and parlayed the experience into a partnership role in financial services consulting at IBM.

Since joining a global technology leader as an associate in 2014, Lander has displayed a commitment to delivering exceptional value to clients and ensuring IBM's status as a premier consulting partner in the ever-evolving financial services sector.
