Swimming & Diving Returns to Action at Bentley

1/13/2023 9:30:00 AM

Waltham, Mass. - After a hiatus due to the winter break coupled with a spring training trip, the Adelphi University swimming and diving programs returned to action on Thursday at Bentley University.

Despite losses for both the women and men, each team came away with a handful of first places finishes as they prepare for the Northeast-10 Conference Championship meet in just under a month.

On the women's side, they brought home four gold medal finishes, including top swims from first year Emily Munayirji. In the 400 IM, she clocked in at 5:12.75, which doesn't rank as her best time ever in the event, which she swam back in October at Pace. Delaney Noel and Mackenzie Pina both recorded first place finishes in the 500 free and 100 butterfly events, respectively.

In the three-meter diving event, Skyler Nenadich scored 233.69 to place first, while coming in second in the one-meter event.

For the men, Cooper Rivers and Connor Singer were the lone Panthers to find gold medals, after the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke races.

Frankie Genna got on the diving board for the men, putting up career-best scores from both heights.

The team has a quick turnaround and will head to Southern Connecticut Friday, Jan. 13 for a 2:00 p.m. meet with the Owls.
