Garden City, N.Y. - In addition to regular season games for Adelphi volleyball and men's soccer, the Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the full schedule of events being offered for Adelphi's annual Spirit Weekend, starting Wednesday, October 12. 

Several athletics-based events will be taking place over the weekend as well as a full University schedule, which can be viewed here. 

The annual Spirit Weekend will start with the 34th Annual Golf Classic, benefiting the Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund. This year's event honoree will also be Dr. Mark Grossman, the department's team doctor since 2002. For more information, visit the registration page.

On Saturday, there is a full slate of events, including several team-specific events, detailed below. Additionally, campus welcomes back all alumni to a free brunch (11:00 AM- 12:30 PM) as well as an Oktoberfest-themed beer tent alongside the annual Carnival. Adelphi volleyball will host Assumption University at 1:00 p.m. before the men's soccer team hosts the College of Saint Rose on Motamed Field at 7:00 p.m. 

Track & Field/Cross Country

• 9:00 AM - Panthers for a Cause 5K - benefiting the Adelphi Cross Country and Track and Field programs 
• 11:00 AM - Alumni brunch (Offered by Adelphi University as part of Spirit Weekend)
• 3:00 PM - Record board unveiling/reception in the CRS atrium

Swimming & Diving

• 11:00 AM - Alumni brunch (Offered by Adelphi University as part of Spirit Weekend)
• 1:00 PM - On deck gathering of alumni with Len Galluzzi '68 plaque unveiling followed by fun competition in the water

Baseball 

• 10:30 AM - Alumni are invited back to William J. Bonomo Field for some batting practice prior to watching the current team in inter-squad action. Lunch  will be provided

Softball 

• 12:00 PM -Alumni batting practice followed by current team intrasquad
• Refreshments and raffles will take place at Janet L. Ficke Field
