Mansfield, Mass. - Following a star-studded spring campaign, the Adelphi University Department of Athletics has earned a runner-up finish in the race for the 2021-22 NE10 Presidents' Cup, the final standings were announced Friday morning.

The Presidents' Cup is presented annually to signify overall athletic excellence in the NE10. After winning four Cups in five years from 2012 to 2017, the Panthers now have four second-place finishes in the last six seasons that the Cup has been presented.

Adelphi found itself in the middle of the 14-team pack through the fall and winter seasons, but a conference-headlining 70-point spring nearly catapulted the Brown and Gold to the top of the table.

The Panthers, despite garnering a league-high 85 percent of their available points in the spring, missed out on overtaking SNHU for the Cup by a margin of just ten points (171.5-161.5).

As the NE10 Presidents' Cup only takes regular-season finishes into account, Adelphi made up the deficit on the heels of four of its programs winning an NE10 regular-season title.

The baseball and softball teams both delivered on their regular-season-winning predictions in the preseason coaches' polls, while the men's lacrosse team stunned Le Moyne on the road on the final day of the regular season.

The women's lacrosse team completed a nearly-unbeaten 12-1 conference season, which tied Stonehill atop the standings and gave the Panthers a share of the NE10 regular-season championship.
