Guilderland, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's gold team won the Saint Rose Shootout dual match at the College of Roses on Friday afternoon.
The 18-hole match was formatted as a six hole two-player scramble, alternate shot and best ball. Each of the three rounds of six holes were worth one point each.
The Panthers finished with a total team score of 9.5 to Saint Rose's 2.5, to lead head coach
Bill Bresnan to his first win at the helm.
Two Adelphi pairs made a clean sweep with -
Ilaria Ponziani and
Alexis Cokinos, and
Hannah Trinh and
Amy McCaffrey. Both pairs finished with three points.
Nicole Schwartz and
Sabrina Nyitray finished with 2.5 points, and
Emily McKenna and
Jenna Masci ended the round with 1 point.
Adelphi will return to the course Apr. 18-19 at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by American International at the Springfield Country Club.
