Bloomsburg, Pa. - After achieving a 10-game winning streak, the Adelphi University baseball team is winless in its last four, after Tuesday's 11-3 loss to Bloomsburg University in non-conference action at Danny Litwhiler Field.
During the current swoon, the Panthers (16-7-1) have only scored six runs and allowed 33 runs.
Despite opening the scoring on a
Jack Ryan RBI single in the third, Adelphi twice rallied from one-run deficits.
A
Johnny Catuosco double leveled the score at 2-2 in the fifth, and a
Matt Alifano solo homer evened things up at 3-all in the sixth.
Unfortunately, the Brown and Gold were unable to overcome an eight-run seventh by the Huskies (19-12).
Adelphi managed to tally 13 hits and put nine runners in scoring position, but only mustered three runs throughout the game.
The long road trip has concluded for the Panthers and
Bill Ianniciello's squad will be in action at home on Friday (Apr. 15) for the first doubleheader a four-game series against University of New Haven at noon.
