Basketball is Back: Adelphi Gears Up for Home Openers

11/4/2022 10:00:00 AM

Garden City, N.Y. - With the 2022-23 basketball season right around the corner, the Adelphi University department of athletics is pleased to announce its upcoming collaborations during the home openers, scheduled for Nov. 11 and 16.

The Adelphi women's basketball team will open up its season on Friday, Nov. 11 when they host Post University at 6:00 p.m. Within the game, the marketing team will host a collaboration with Adelphi Greek Life, promoting attendance from all on-campus chapters for the chance to win a prize for their fraternity or sorority.

While the Adelphi men's basketball program will start the season on the road, they return to the Center for Recreation and Sports for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off on Wednesday, Nov. 16 against Bloomfield College. The team welcomes resident students to participate in Hall Wars in collaboration with the Office of Residential Life and Housing. The dorm with the highest percentage of attendees will win a prize for its residents.

In addition to the key collaborations, each game will feature a premium raffle that all students can participate in. Throughout the week leading up to both games, students will have opportunities to earn more chances to win by receiving extra raffle cards at various events on campus. Be sure to follow the teams and department on instagram to learn more.

The first 250 Adelphi fans at each game will also receive a free #PawsUp rally towel and in conjunction with military appreciation, camo bracelets will also be handed out at the women's game on Nov. 11.

Leading up to both games, representatives from both teams will be promoting the upcoming season at the University Center and around campus on Nov. 9-10 and 14-15.
