Garden City, N.Y. - For the month of October, the Adelphi University volleyball program will be supporting the Sideout Foundation as it raises awareness and funds for breast cancer research.Â
Funds raised through this campaign go toward a clinical trial specifically for patients with metastatic breast cancer, the most advanced form of the disease, and the least funded area of research. A direct link to donate to our $2000 goal can be found above.
In volleyball, "side-out" means regaining control of the ball. Similarly, The Side-Out Foundation helps people with breast cancer regain control of their lives. Side-Out directly funds "game-changing" breast cancer research and support. The organization raises millions that fund cutting-edge clinical trials at renowned medical institutions.
This unique approach is successfully extending the lives of people with stage 4 breast cancer. A portion of the money raised through Side-Out also goes to high-quality support services for cancer patients and their families.
The team will kick off its campaign on Saturday, Oct. 8 when they host Le Moyne College at 1:00 p.m. A representative from the Adelphi Breast Cancer Hotline support organization will also be on site.Â
