Staten Island, N.Y. - After a 3-2 start to the tournament, the No. 23 Adelphi University women's bowling team swept all five Baker matches on Sunday to top the field at the 2022 Seahawk Invitational, hosted by Wagner College, at Rab's Country Lanes.
While the oil pattern differed between the two days, the Panthers (32-22) averaged a 188.7 and recorded a total pinfall of 4,718 in Baker competition -- a difference of 168 pins next to Morgan State's 4,550 total pinfall.
Adelphi exceeded a pinfall of 900 or better in four of its five Baker matches, including a weekend-high 1,005-871 decision over No. 16 Morgan State University.
Additionally, the Panthers bowled three 200 games in each of their last three Baker contests, which led to a narrow 955-953 victory against Saint Francis University in the tournament finale.
Megan Wehmeier appeared in all five traditional matches for the Brown and Gold and led the team with an 886 series (177.2 average).
In abbreviated action,
Taylor Eggert rolled a career-high 232 against Wagner and averaged a 228.5 across her two matches.
Hailey Spencer had the next highest game with a 210 and averaged a 174.3.
Blanca Fraticelli made three appearances and shot a 176.3 average.
The Panthers will return to action from Feb. 5-6 at the Griffin Baker Classic, hosted by Chestnut Hill College, at the Bowlerama in New Castle, Del.
