Cleveland, Ohio - Another year is in the books and the Adelphi University Department of Athletics has raised the bar once again by having a school-record 136 student-athletes honored as recipients of the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.
After a then-record 118 student-athletes made the list last year, the Panthers more than surpassed that mark in 2020-21.
Even with much of the learning still in a virtual format, Adelphi had 136 of its rising upperclassmen attain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. That total ranks among the Top 5 in the NE10 and East Region.
At least 100 Panthers have been recognized each of the last six years.
Fifteen of Adelphi's 23 teams compiled a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, which paved the way for a 3.499 department GPA.
The baseball team led the department with 19 student-athletes named to the distinguished listing. Six other programs also had double-digit honorees.
The D2ADA Academic Achievement Award honors those student-athletes who maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, after completing at least two years of academic coursework.
