11/16/2021 11:00:00 AM

Lodi, N.J. - Adelphi University Head Women's Bowling Coach Dennis Kearney has eclipsed a career milestone.

With a 7-2 runner-up finish at this weekend's Falcon Fall Classic, Kearney collected his 400th career coaching victory -- the most of any active head coach at Adelphi.

"It is a humbling milestone that I have had the pleasure of being a part of in my time coaching at Adelphi," Kearney remarked. "These 400 wins are a reflection of what has been accomplished by our athletes."

"We continue to coach because of our athletes and the passion we have for our sport. There is no feeling quite like knowing you are helping to develop these special individuals in life."

While Adelphi went 7-2 against the field, the Panthers (18-14) were an even-more-impressive 5-1 against ECC opposition. Their only loss came by a single pin (839-838) at the hands of Bloomfield College.

With the fate of the tournament title hanging in the balance, Adelphi met Fairleigh Dickinson University in a showdown of Top 25 nationally-ranked teams.

Although the Panthers attained their best total pinfall of the weekend in the match, the No. 25 Panthers came up short against the No. 8 Knights, 998-976.

Blanca Fraticelli was the anchor once again for Adelphi. Her 183.6 traditional average led her team and ranked sixth among all 74 bowlers at the tournament. She had Adelphi's high game with a 228 versus Wagner.

Skylar McGarrity and Kristen Derr both placed within the Top 15 with their respective averages of 172.8 and 172.4. Derr also rolled a season-high 222 against Felician.

Kearney and his Adelphi squad will now travel to Millsboro, Del. for the Hawk Classic this weekend (Nov. 19-21) at Millsboro Lanes before breaking for the holidays.
