Colchester, Vt. - On Saturday, the Adelphi University women's soccer team settled for a 1-1 draw against Saint Michael's College in NE10 action at Duffy Field.
For the eighth time in nine games this season, the Panthers (4-3-2, 4-3-1 NE10) were held without a goal over the first 45 minutes of play.
While Adelphi came into action without allowing a goal in its last two games, that streak snapped in the first half after a scoreless stretch of 251:56.
In the 37th minute, Zoe Rogers struck from 30 yards out to stake Saint Michael's (4-5-2, 2-4-2 NE10) to the 1-0 advantage.
Of the first 24 shots attempted by the visitors, the Panthers were only able to muster two of those shots on goal.
With 6:55 left in the second half,
Jacklyn Lada leveled the match, after finishing a
Maria D'Angelo cross from across the 18 into the lower left corner of the net.
Lada also came within inches of winning it in the final minutes of regulation, but her tap-in on the doorstep with two minutes remaining was denied by Saint Michael's' keeper Katie Escobedo.
Adelphi will next play an exhibition at Division I Columbia University on Tuesday (Oct. 12), before wrapping up its four-game road trip next Saturday (Oct. 16) in Rindge, N.H. at Franklin Pierce University at 7 p.m.
