No. 10 Women's Basketball Topples SNHU in NE10 Quarters, 81-55

Garden City, N.Y. - On Sunday, the No. 10 and top-seeded Adelphi University women's basketball team dominated from start to finish in an 81-55 victory over the Northeast Division's No. 4 seed Southern New Hampshire University in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Northeast-10 Conference Championship at the Center for Recreation and Sport.

With the victory, the Panthers (27-2) will advance to Thursday's (Mar. 5) semifinal round and host the Northeast's No. 2 seed Saint Anselm College, which won 55-44 against University of New Haven in its quarterfinal contest, at the CRS at 7 p.m.

Adelphi shot a solid 44.2 percent (34-of-77) from the field in the contest and held SNHU (16-13) to just 31.4 percent (22-of-70) shooting, including a 2-of-23 showing from three-point range.

The Panthers came out firing, opening the game on a 10-0 run, and never looked back. Adelphi would grow its lead to a comfortable 16-point (38-22) advantage at halftime.

The Brown and Gold kept their foot to the gas pedal in the second half, as the hosts went up by as many as 31 points (77-46) in the fourth quarter.

Four players finished in double figures for the Panthers, including a pair of double-doubles. Emily Miccile scored 16 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds. Leonie Edringer led all players with 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Katie Murphy and Fallyn Stephens had 12 points apiece. Murphy also added nine rebounds and seven assists.
