Sinking Spring, Pa. - The No. 20 Adelphi University women's bowling team tacked on another tournament title to its 2019-20 resume Friday at Day 1 of the Griffin Baker Classic, hosted by Chestnut Hill College at Berks Lanes in Sinking Spring.
It is the second time in six days that the Panthers have won a trophy for a Baker competition. Adelphi won its first tournament of the year on Sunday at the Molloy Bowl for a Cure.
The Panthers won all five of their Baker matches in decisive fashion. Their smallest margin of victory came by 25 pins (904-879) in their opening match against Walsh.
The Brown and Gold also defeated NJCU (915-798), Delaware State (1,142-954), LIU (1,024-912) and St. Thomas Aquinas (1,063-738), en route to a perfect 5-0 day.
In those latter four games, Adelphi had at least two bowlers post a score of 200 or better. Four Panthers eclipsed a 200 against No. 18 Delaware State.
Head Coach
Dennis Kearney and his Adelphi squad resume competition at the Griffin Baker Classic on Saturday (Feb. 8), with another five-match Baker tournament.
