Pleasantville, N.Y.- A 3-0 road triumph over Pace University marked the 10th straight victory for the No.19 Adelphi University baseball team on Tuesday afternoon.
Ed Baram sealed the shutout, going a total of 8.0 innings and striking out five Pace batters to improve his perfect record to 6-0. Tom Ambrosino closed the final inning, facing four batters before clinching his seventh save of the season.
"Baram was outstanding once again," Head Coach Dom Scala commented on the senior, "Eight very sharp and efficient innings, while calmly getting out of two jams."
Thomas Colombo and Jonathan Iadevaia both tallied two hits against the home team, while Brett Malm, Lucas Terwilliger, Kyle Olson, Brandon Warick, and Jordan Milo each added one hit apiece.
Both teams remained scoreless through the first four frames, before the Panthers put up the first run of the contest in the fifth inning. Starting with a single off Iadevaia's bat, Olson recorded an RBI double to put Adelphi (24-5, 12-1 NE10) in the lead.
In the next inning, Adelphi extended its lead by two more runs, beginning with a double from Malm, and Colombo earning a free trip after being hit by a pitch. A single from Terwilliger loaded the bases for Iadevaia, who roped a two-run single to right field to tack two more on the score, 3-0.
The Brown and Gold will host its final home series of the regular season versus the College of Saint Rose. The first game is scheduled for Friday at 3:30 p.m. on William J. Bonomo Field.Â
