Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Racalbuto Nets 100 Career Goals, Men's Lacrosse Ousts Saint A's, 17-7

Manchester, N.H. - Back in Northeast-10 Conference action, the top-ranked Adelphi University men's lacrosse program visited #17 Saint Anselm College for a Saturday afternoon tilt. After holding their opponents scoreless in the opening quarter, the Panthers (6-0, 3-0 NE10) went on to secure a 17-7 victory to remain perfect in 2019.

Nicolas Racalbuto scored his 100th career goal, his last of six tallies in the win, which was a team-leading statistic.  Brendan McDougal also kept the 17th-ranked team in the country to sub-double digit goals with 12 saves.

With Mark Andrejack at the faceoff, who finished 21-23 at the X, The Panthers got out to an early 6-0 start after nine minutes of action. Saint Anselm's Patrick Sweeney broke the silence with a shot past McDougal, but not until the second frame was underway.

Six more goals came from the Brown and Gold before the home team was able to strike again, as Sweeney registered the first goal of the second and third frames. The final quarter was the only one in which the home team outscored Adelphi, with a 5-3 advantage, however the deficit was too great to overcome as time expired with the Panthers at the upper end of a 17-7 decision.

John Arcidiacono was responsible for three goals as Ian Kirby and Michael Paccione registered two in the win.

The men's team is back in action on Wednesday, March 20 when they host LIU Post for the final time in school history. The game will also be celebrated with the annual Hall Wars competition alongside a Military Appreciation Night. For more information visit aupanthers.com or follow the department on social media.
