West Chester, Pa. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team saw its season come to an end at the hands of the Concordia College (N.Y.) Clippers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon on the campus of West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

The Clippers, the fourth seed in the East Region out of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, defeated the fifth-seeded Panthers (15-2) to set up a meeting with top-seeded Goldey-Beacom on Sunday for the right to advance to the final 16 in the national championship in Arizona next week.

Adelphi trailed 2-1 at the close of doubles play, as the lone point for the Brown and Gold on the afternoon came from junior Samantha Perri and freshman Nicole Kielan at No.2 doubles, as the pair dominated Franziska Putschbach and Kristel Kalm to the tune of an 8-1 victory.

The rest of the match was all Concordia, however, as the Clippers sealed the victory with straight set wins at No.1 and No.6 singles, and a retirement win at No.3 singles. 

The Panthers won their third straight Northeast-10 Championship in the 2017-18 season, qualifying them automatically for their third straight NCAA Tournament.
