No. 1 Women's Lacrosse Handles Saint Anselm, 18-4

Manchester, N.H. - With an 18-4 decision over Saint Anselm College, the national No. 1 Adelphi women's lacrosse program rolled to its 14th consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon to still remain spotless against Northeast-10 opponents.

Three different players accounted for hat tricks as Alison Johnson led the way with seven points behind two goals and five assists. Michele Scannell, who scored three times also posted a team-high five draw controls. The two connected early to give the Panthers (14-1, 12-0 NE10) a 2-0 lead after Alyssa Gillespie opened the game with a tally just 15 seconds after the opening draw control.

The Brown and Gold rattled off 15 straight goals, including 14 in the first half before Saint Anselm (8-7, 6-5 NE10) got on the board. For the Hawks, Erica Mattila scored half the teams' goals, both on free position attempts and picked up three draw controls.

Lena Riportella and Kole Pollock both notched their hat tricks in the opening frame, as the visitors tallied a commanding 25-2 advantage in shots just in the first half alone. All four of Adelphi's goalies saw time in the cage in the second half, after Emma Lemanski who earned her 14th straight win. In her third appearance this season, Emily Perry grabbed two saves on four shots faced.

Once Breda Holland scored to break the silence for the home team at 23:10 in the second, the Hawks put back another goal three minutes later and were responsible for the last two strikes of the contest, both courtesy of Mattila.
