Women's Tennis Soars Past Franklin Pierce, 6-1

Box Score Rindge, N.H. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team scored another Northeast-10 Conference victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Franklin Pierce University Ravens, 6-1. 

The Panthers got off on the right foot in the match by securing the doubles point with a pair of identical sets, winning 6-1 at both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. 

Adelphi (6-2, 5-2 NE10) scored a bagel set in four of the five singles matches against the Ravens (2-8, 2-5 NE10), led by Nicole Stay's 6-0, 6-0 victory at No.3 singles. In addition, rookie Ashley Mannetta dropped just one game at No.5 singles, while both Samantha Perri and Nicole Kielan dropped just two games in the top two slots, respectively.

Adelphi remains on the road for its next match, taking on the Purple Knights of Saint Michael's College on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 12 p.m.
