Kielan Clinches as Women's Tennis Sinks Dolphins, 4-3

Box Score Lynbrook, N.Y. -  Sophomore Nicole Kielan delivered the clinching win at No.2 singles for the Adelphi University women's tennis team on Saturday night, as the Panthers topped Le Moyne College, 4-3, in the penultimate match of the regular season.

Kielan delivered a 7-6(5), 6-4 win over Le Moyne's Birdem Oz to lead the Panthers (9-2, 8-2 NE10) in a match in which they led 3-1 overall after winning the doubles point and seeing Samantha Perri and Nicole Stay win their singles matches.

However, the Dolphins hit back with victories at No.4 and No.5 singles, leading to second singles being the deciding match.

2. Karen Serina/Nicole Stay (ADE) def. Marta Nunez/Caroline St. Antoine (LEM) 6-4

1. Samantha Perri (ADE) def. Tiffany Hamdan (LEM) 6-2, 6-0
2. Nicole Kielan (ADE) def. Birdem Oz (LEM) 7-6 (7-5), 6-4
3. Nicole Stay (ADE) def. Marta Nunez (LEM) 6-1, 6-3
4. Caroline St. Antoine (LEM) def. Karen Serina (ADE) 6-2, 7-5
5. Belen Wibmer (LEM) def. Ashley Mannetta (ADE) 6-2, 6-1
6. Camila Humala (LEM) def. No player (ADE), by default

The Panthers close out the regular season on Sunday afternoon, as they welcome Stonehill College to Garden City at noon. Prior to the match, the Panthers will honor Perri and Karen Serina, the senior class.
