Flushing, N.Y. -- The Adelphi University women's tennis team was handed its first defeat since September on Friday, as the Panthers were upended by the Knights of Queens College, 7-2.
It was a big regional match for both teams, as Queens (12-2) ranked second in the NCAA East Regional Rankings and the Panthers (12-5) were ranked fourth. Queens captured two of the three doubles points before taking five of the six singles matches, but the Brown and Gold got a tiebreak win from
Rebecca Fakas and
Karen Serina at No. 1 doubles, before
Samantha Perri rallied from a set down to win at No. 4 singles.
