Garden City, N.Y. -- Though Brett Malm homered for the second straight day, the Adelphi University baseball team saw Queens College score seven unanswered runs to take the rubber game of a weekend three-game series, 7-2, on William J. Bonomo Field on Sunday.

Prior to the start of the game, the team honored its 10 graduating seniors for their contributions to the program over their time as Panthers: Michael Stack, Robert Vani, Zack Levinson, Michael Ceparano, Eric Hassell, Matthew O'ConnorAndrew Sesto, Will Hickey, TJ Santiago and Chris Lemorocco.

Malm took a 1-1 pitch from Rob Backus over the left field fence to give Adelphi (22-21) a 2-0 lead in the first inning, scoring Steven Withers as well, but the Panthers were kept off the board from there, thanks in part to the Knights (16-20) turning three double plays.

Queens rallied to tie in the third with two runs against Ceparano, as a leadoff single and hit batter led to two in scoring position with none out as Ceparano uncorked a wild pitch. Jose Pidoto drove in the first run on an RBI groundout, with the second coming home on a sacrifice fly to tie the game up.

Though the next two innings went by scoreless, the Knights scratched out a two-out run against Sesto in the sixth, as Jon Temenak drove home Thom Parrish on a single to center field, after Parrish had singled himself to keep the inning going prior to a four-pitch walk to Joe Morris.

The 3-2 margin stood until the eighth, in which the Knights scored four runs in total as three Adelphi relievers took the hill, on four hits, two walks and a balk.

To kick off the final week of the season on Tuesday, the Panthers travel to Pace University for a 3:30 pm Northeast-10 Conference contest.
