Garden City, N.Y. - The No. 5 Adelphi University men's lacrosse program kept No. 2 Le Moyne College to their lowest scoring output this season en route to a 9-5 victory Saturday afternoon at Motamed Field. The win clinches the Northeast 10 regular season title for the Panthers (12-2, 10-1 NE10) for the first time since 2014. Prior to opening faceoff, the team recognized the accomplishments the of graduating class of 2017, in Joseph Catalanotti, Kyle Cropsey, Shane deBoer, Chris Racalbuto, Nick Reisig, and Alec Salvadori. 

Leading the charge for Adelphi was deBoer who notched his second hat trick of the season as teammate Gordon Purdie Jr., accounted for two tallies of his own. Four other members of the program recorded single goals and Mark Andrejack went 12-18 at the faceoff for the Brown and Gold. In goal for the home team, Brendan McDougal racked up 12 saves for his twelfth save of the season. 

The home team settled in quickly, scoring three quick goals to open the top-five matchup. Le Moyne (11-2, 8-2 NE10) managed several shots in the following minutes, but majority missed the mark. C. Racalbuto connected with Chris Lopez with under two to play in the first frame to command a 4-0 lead. The home team maintained offensive pressure at the start of the second, as Michael Osmundsen extended the lead with his 23rd goal of the season, but the Dolphins put in the next two tallies to cut into the deficit. 

Le Moyne put up one goal in the third, but were held relatively quiet as the Panthers scored twice courtesy of deBoer and Purdie Jr. Heading into the final 15 minutes of action, the visitors attempted to shift momentum by scoring first, however deBoer and Purdie Jr. worked tirelessly towards the net to keep the 'Phins at bay. After the eighth Panther goal, Jack Thomann came up big on defense causing a turnover after Le Moyne put two shots at McDougal. The teams were evenly matched, both accounting for 17 shots on goal however Adelphi held the advantage in faceoffs (12-6) and saves (12-8) on their way to uprooting the second-seeded Dolphins. 

The men's lacrosse program returns to Motamed Field for their final home contest against East Coast Conference rival New York Institute of Technology. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
