Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team ran its winning streak to six on Tuesday, returning home for the first time in four matches to take a 6-3 decision over the University of New Haven Chargers.
Two 8-1 wins in doubles put Adelphi in the lead in the match, and four straight sets wins in singles for the Brown and Gold (8-1, 7-1 NE10) clinched victory. Playing at No.3 singles for the first time this season,
Samantha Perri was emphatic in a double bagel victory, while also teaming with
Elizabeth Kallenberg for an 8-1 win at No.2 doubles.
Adelphi's top tandem of
Rebecca Fakas and Kallenberg also put two singles points on the board with two routine victories, while
Karen Serina dropped just two games in winning her match at No.4 singles.
