Women's Tennis Snaps Skid Against Le Moyne, 5-4

Garden City, N.Y. -- After dropping the last two Northeast-10 Conference matches, the Adelphi University women's tennis team rebounded with a 5-4 victory over the visiting Le Moyne College Dolphins on Tuesday afternoon.

Two victories for the Panthers in the two completed doubles matches put Adelphi up 2-1 headed to singles, as Rebecca Fakas and Samantha Perri led the way with an 8-3 win at No. 1 while Vanja Savic and Karen Serina recorded an 8-2 victory at No. 2.

Three wins in singles helped key the Adelphi victory, as Fakas and Perri kept their undefeated streaks going on the season behind straight-set victories; Fakas delivered a first set bagel before edging the second set over last season's NE-10 Rookie of the Year Tiffany Dun to win 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1, while Perri surrendered just one game en route to winning at No. 4. The final point for the Panthers in singles came from Serina, who was steady enough to see off Amica Benoit-Limosani at No. 3, 6-2, 6-3.
