Garden City, N.Y. – The Adelphi University women's soccer, the 11th ranked team in the latest NSCAA National Poll, continued its unblemished start to 2016 with a 4-1 victory against Saint Anselm earlier today on Motamed Field. The contest also marked the Northeast-10 Conference opener.
Less than 10 minutes into the opening half, the Panthers (3-0) created a 1-0 lead off the foot of

Jeanine Nunez found her fellow forward in the middle of the box as Gomez struck with a left foot to place the opening tally in the top left corner during the ninth minute.
Four minutes later,
Morgan Santoro scored her second goal of the week off a corner kick by dribbling into the left side of the box and striking the back of the net on the same side. Gomez put the Brown and Gold ahead 3-0 in the 23
rd minute by directing an attempt on the left side of the net yet again that bounced off the post and goalkeeper Cassie Quattropani.

Anne Marie Ulliac to make a pair of saves while Quattropani stopped five attempts in addition to defensive save on the goal line for Saint Anselm.
Looking to add to the advantage during the second half,
Victoria Antonino pushed the Panthers ahead 4-0 during the 79 minute by finishing a ball from Santoro on the right side of the 18-yard box. Six minutes later, Saint Anselm ended the shutout bid as Corey Murray finished a rebound shot in front of the goal off an initial shot from Kendra Bonczar.
