Albany, N.Y. -- With the contest even after three quarters of play, the visiting Adelphi University women's basketball team outscored the host Golden Knights of the College of Saint Rose 24-11 to come away with a 63-50 Northeast-10 Conference victory on Saturday afternoon.
Three players scored in double figures for the Panthers (6-3, 3-2 NE-10) in the victory, led by a 15-point effort from
Ashley Gomez.
Sierra Clark came off the bench for a double-double, tallying 14 points and pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds, while

Adelphi kicked off the contest on an 8-1 scoring run featuring two buckets from Gomez, and one each from Brenner and
Calli Balfour. From that point, the Panthers has to negotiate foul trouble, with the Brown and Gold picking up nine team fouls in the first 10 minutes of play.
The two squads traded buckets to open the second quarter, with Saint Rose taking a brief lead before the Panthers put themselves back on top at 25-21 behind buckets from Brenner and Clark, forcing the home squad to take a timeout with less than five minutes to play. From that point, Stowe knocked down two at the line and Keyontae Williams drained a jumped to again pull the Golden Knights even with 2:24 to play, before
Lauren Nuss knocked down a three from well behind the arc with time expiring on the shot clock to put Adelphi up 28-25, a lead the Panthers would take to halftime.

The game entered the final 10 minutes tied, however, as Williams was fouled by Clark with just three ticks left on the clock and sank one of two from the line.
Neither team could gain an advantage of more than one possession early in the final quarter which saw three ties in the opening three minutes of the fourth, before
Tara Flynn sunk a three-pointer off a pass from
Emily Brandt with 6:36 remaining to give the Brown and Gold the lead for good. The scoring continued for Adelphi, as seven unanswered points for the visitors in the minutes that followed gave them a 10-point, 55-45 advantage with 3:42 left on the clock. With the home team resorting to fouls with under two minutes to play, the Panthers suck seven of nine from the line to ice the contest and come away with the NE-10 victory.
