Volleyball Wins 12th Straight, 3-1 Over Bentley

The Panthers have not lost a contest since September 16.

Waltham, MA - The Adelphi University volleyball team ran their win streak to 12 games on Friday, October 23 with a 3-1 victory over host Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. With the win the Panthers improve to 17-4 overall and remain perfect in Northeast-10 action at 8-0, while the Falcons fall to 14-7 and 7-2 in conference action.

Mandy Stanislovaitis was one of three Panthers to top double digits in kills with a game-high 19. She was joined by McKenna Clawson with 14 and Shelby Stoner with 10, while Bailey Riedel chipped in nine and Madison Canestrari picked up eight kills and had a team-high five total blocks. Megan Manierski led all playes with 53 set assists and the defense was paced by Sierra Crook, who totaled 16 digs.

Adelphi pulled out to a 2-0 victory after picking up identical 25-21 victories in game one and two. The first game was all Brown and Gold, thanks to a .308 hitting percentage and 18 kills for the Panthers. The Falcons actually picked up one more kill then Adelphi in game two, but a late 6-1 run, sparked by Bentley service error, turned a 18-16 Brown and Gold lead into a 24-16 margin on the way to a 25-21 Panther win.

The Brown and Gold stumbled in the third game, falling 25-23 despite posting two more kills then the hosts, 18-16 and hitting .302. However, Adelphi got back on track in the fourth set, making just four errors and hitting .323 to close out the match with a 25-20 win.

The Panthers return to the court on Tuesday, October 27 when they travel to West Haven, connecticut for a 7:00 pm meeting with the University of New Haven.
