Brookville, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team defeated former East Coast Conference rival LIU-Post, 6-3, on Tuesday afternoon. The Panthers swept doubles play to lead 3-0 in the match and never looked back to run their overall record to 8-1 on the season. The Pioneers drop to 4-2 with the loss.
The Panthers picked up two points without having to step on the court, as the Pioneers were forced to default No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. The Panthers moved into a good position in the match by claiming the other two wins in doubles.
Stefani Lineva and
Charlotte Moreau partnered for the first time this season at No. 1, while
Rebecca Fakas and
Joanna Haich also teamed up for the first time with a win.
With just one win required to secure the match, Haich and Fakas picked up victories in contrasting fashion. Haich edged
