Women's Tennis Closes Out Regular Season With Fifth Straight Win, Downs Franklin Pierce 9-0

Panthers secure No. 2 seed in Northeast-10 Tournament.

The women's tennis team secured the No. 2 seed in the NE-10 tournament with a 9-0 win against Franklin Pierce.
Rindge, N.H. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team traveled to the campus of Franklin Pierce University for its final match of the regular season on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers blanked the host Ravens, 9-0, to improve to 12-5 overall and 11-1 in conference play. The Panthers secured the No. 2 seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament and will receive a bye into the semifinals. With the loss, the Ravens end their season at 1-12 overall and 1-11 in the conference.

The Panthers were dominant from the start, picking up all three wins in doubles by a combined 24-5 score in games. Joanna Haich and Gaby Adia continued to roll at No. 3 doubles, as they did not allow their opponents a single game.

In singles, the Panthers led in every aspect, losing just one game in 10 total sets played. Charlotte Moreau, Katarina Barborikova, Haich and Adia all recorded double bagel victories to put the finishing touches on Adelphi's regular season.

Coach's Thoughts on the Match
"This was a great match today as we closed out the season on a good note," Head Coach Michael Misiti stated. "This will hopefully start some positive momentum into the playoffs."
