Women's Tennis Tops Bentley, 5-1

Panthers close out regular season tomorrow against Franklin Pierce.

Katarina Barborikova led the Panthers win two victories vs. Bentley, dropping only four games.
Waltham, Mass. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team traveled to the campus of Bentley University to face off against the Falcons in a Northeast-10 Conference match on Friday afternoon. The Panthers took a 2-1 lead at the close of doubles play and did not relinquish the advantage, eventually prevailing 5-1 in a shortened match. With the win, the Brown and Gold improve to 11-5 overall and 10-1 in the NE-10, while the Falcons end the regular season at 8-10 overall and 7-5 in the conference.

Katarina Barborikova and Charlotte Moreau continued to lead the squad at top flight doubles, recording their fifth victory together in the past six matches. The No. 1 duo defeated Ludmila Yamus and Catherine Gianino, 8-2. The Panthers' second point came from Joanna Haich and Gaby Adia, who triumphed by an identical score at No. 3 doubles.

Barborikova put in a dominating performance against Gianino to lead the Panthers on the singles court, and dropped just two games in a straight sets victory. Haich and Adia put the Pathers over the finish line with competitive two-set wins, and with the match already out of reach, the remaining three singles matches went unfinished.
