Women's Tennis Falls to ASA, 9-0

The Panthers return to action on Friday, February 28.

In a loss for the Panthers, Gaby Adia pushed her opponent in singles before falling 6-2, 7-5.
Box Score New York, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team opened its spring season on the road Friday at ASA College. The Panthers were unable to score a point against their non-conference opponents and fell by a 9-0 score. The loss drops the Panthers to 2-2 overall on the season while ASA opens its season 1-0.

Charlotte Moreau and Jennifer Ferguson played the closest doubles match for Adelphi in the second spot, before falling by an 8-2 score. In singles play, the Panthers were overmatched, but Adia put up a close fight at fourth singles before falling, 6-2, 7-5. Freshman Ferguson made her debut for the Brown and Gold in the fifth flight spot.

Coach's Thoughts on the Match
"Today we played one of the strongest junior colleges in the nation," Head Coach Michael Misiti stated. "They have many former professionals playing on their squad and we always knew this would incredibly difficult. We will move on from our first match of the season, gaining fitness and enthusiasm for our conference matches."

The Panthers return to action on Friday, February 28 when they will play host to the Bears of the New York Institute of Technology in a non-conference match.
