Men's Basketball Knocked Down by The Golden Knights, 81-66

Box Score Albany, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's basketball team traveled to Albany, New York  on Wednesday, February 19 to wrap up the road portion of their 2013-14 regular season schedule with a meeting with the College of Saint Rose. Adelphi was held to just 26 points on 37 percent shooting from the field in the first half and could not dig themselves out of a 20 point halftime deficit, falling 81-66. With the loss the Brown and Gold falls to 5-19 overall and 3-15 in the conference, while the Golden Knights improve to 13-12 and 10-9 in NE-10 games.

Duane Morgan led the Panthers with 27 points on an efficient 11-15 shooting from the field and added six rebounds. Ryan DeNicola joined Morgan in double figures with 14 points, while Anthony Libroia chipped in eight points, six assists and five rebounds.

The hosts jumped on Adelphi from the tip, out scoring the Panthers 18-6 in the first 8:16. The Brown and Gold rallied, using a 11-7 spurt, capped by a Morgan jumper, to get within eight points, 25-17, with 7:22 remaining in the first frame. However, St. Rose responded by closing the half with a 21-9 run, putting Adelphi in a 2- point hole at the half.

The St. Rose lead grew to as many as 25 points in the second half, 59-34, before Adelphi used another spurt to get within 15, on two Boris Fodouop free throws at the 8:24 mark, 67-52. The Panthers would eventually fall by the same margin, 81-66.
