New Haven, CT - Two goals in the final eight minutes of play helped Southern Connecticut State rally past the Adelphi University men's soccer team 2-1 earlier this evening during a Northeast-10 Conference Championship Semifinal game.

Diego Zuniga scored the opening goal to put the Panthers up 1-0 two minutes before the halftime break. The senior deflected in his shot from five yards out after collecting a pass inside the box from freshman
Federico De Oliveira. The Browna and Gold went into intermission with a 10-5 shot advantage while both squads attempted three corner kicks in the period.
The host Owls turned the attack to their favor in the second half, outshooting Adelphi 8-1 that resulted in the two late goals. Daniel Ruiz set up Markus Jacobsen with the equalizer in the 83rd minute as Jacobsen ripped his shot from the left side. The game-winner came five minutes later with Daquen King chipped in his goal after collecting a through ball from Chae Brangman.
Ahmad Salamah made five saves for the Panthers while his counterpart, Owl goalie Noah Varonier also made five stops.
Adelphi now awaits Monday evening's NCAA Selection Show to see if the team has qualified in the tournament field.
